Removal And Installation: Right: Notes

- Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATOR [EZH], REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the front drive shaft. Refer to FRONT DRIVESHAFT .
- Temporarily install the transmission crossmember.
- Remove the oil dipstick tube nut and the oil dipstick tube.
1 - Oil Dipstick Tube Nut 2 - Oil Dipstick Tube - Remove the right catalytic convertor. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.NOTE:
All fasteners removed must be installed in the same location they were removed from.
1 - Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Nuts - Remove the front exhaust manifold bolts.
Exhaust Manifold Bolt Sequence - Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the rear exhaust manifold bolts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the exhaust manifold and gasket.
- Inspect the exhaust manifold for any damage. Refer to INSPECTION .
- Clean the mating surfaces.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Prior to installation, make sure all gasket mating surfaces are clean and free of any debris.
- Position the exhaust manifold gasket and manifold to the cylinder head.NOTE:
All fasteners removed must be installed in the same location they were removed from.
- The exhaust manifold to cylinder head bolts must be tightened in the sequence shown in the torque table below.
- Re-check the torque using the sequence shown.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
