Diagnostic Test

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

INFORMATION ONLY DTC

This DTC was originally created to detect a mega knock condition due to the incorrect oil was used in the engine which could cause damage to the engine. There is no sensor, or algorithm in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that can detect deteriorated oil. If there is a severe knock condition, other DTCs should be present.

Since the GF-5 SN oil was eliminated and replaced with GF-6 SP oil in 2020, this is no longer necessary. The DTC is being phased out of PCM calibrations. However, this DTC may still occasionally set erroneously.

This non-MIL fault should be cleared when present and no longer requires that the oil and filter be changed.
