Front Output Shaft Seal: Notes

REMOVAL

Remove the transfer case. Refer to MPT3028C TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Disassemble the transfer case.
Using a suitable tool, remove the front output shaft seal and DISCARD .

1 - Front Output Shaft Seal

INSTALLATION

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

Use tool (special tool #9672, Installer, Seal) to install the output flange seal.
Place the O-ring seal on the output shaft and install the pinion flange.
If necessary, fill the transfer case to the proper fluid level. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
