Exhaust Resonator/Muffler: Notes

REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Support the exhaust system with a suitable jack stand.
- Remove the two left front exhaust isolator bolts.
1 - Left Front Exhaust Isolator 2 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt 3 - Left Rear Exhaust Isolator - Remove the left rear exhaust isolator bolt.
- Remove the two right front exhaust isolator bolts.
1 - Right Front Exhaust Isolator 2 - Right Rear Exhaust Isolator 3 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt - Remove the right rear exhaust isolator bolt.
- Remove the two exhaust isolator nuts.
1 - Exhaust Isolators - Loosen the exhaust resonator/muffler clamp nut.
1 - Exhaust Resonator/Muffler Clamp Nut 2 - Exhaust Resonator/Muffler Assembly - With the help of an assistant, remove the exhaust resonator/muffler assembly.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Make sure the muffler/tailpipe are correctly positioned and properly aligned. The minimum clearance between components is 25.4 mm (1 in.) is required.
- Start the engine and inspect for any exhaust leaks. Repair any exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to LEAK TESTING .
