Battery Coolant Heater: Notes

REMOVAL
- Power down the high voltage system. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
- Loosen the cap on the battery cooling system pressurized coolant bottle to relieve any residual pressure.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the IDCM skid plate. Refer to PHEV - INTEGRATED DUAL CHARGING MODULE (IDCM) SKID PLATE .
- Remove the transmission skid plate. Refer to PHEV - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE .
- Remove the left side skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the transmission crossmember support. Refer to PHEV - TRANSMISSION CROSSMEMBER SUPPORT .
- Drain the battery cooling system. Refer to DRAINING .
- Remove the Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM). Refer to INTEGRATED DUAL CHARGING MODULE (IDCM) .
- Remove the Battery Coolant Heater (BCH) bolts and lift up on the BCH for access to the coolant hoses.
1 - Battery Coolant Heater Bolts 2 - Battery Coolant Heater - Disconnect the BCH inlet coolant hose.
1 - BCH Inlet Coolant Hose 2 - BCH Outlet Coolant Hose - Disconnect the BCH outlet coolant hose.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Power up the high voltage system. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER UP .
- Fill the battery cooling system. Refer to FILLING THE BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM .
- Check the battery cooling system for leaks. Refer to HV BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM LEAK TESTING .
