Transmission Oil Cooler

REMOVAL
- Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- If equipped, remove the active grill shutter. Refer to GRILLE, ACTIVE SHUTTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.NOTE:
Clean any transmission fluid the may have leaked out during the removal process.
NOTE:Plug and seal the ends of the transmission oil cooler and the transmission oil cooler lines to prevent leakage of oil, or moisture, contaminates, or impurities from entering into the system.
- Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the transmission oil cooler using (special tool #9546, Disconnect Tool).
1 - Transmission Oil Cooler 2 - Transmission Oil Cooler Lines - Remove the left and right side radiator closeout seal fasteners and remove the seals.
1 - Radiator Closeout Seals 2 - Radiator Closeout Seal Fasteners - Remove the core support brace bolts and remove the braces.
1 - Radiator Core Support Braces 2 - Radiator Core Support Brace Fasteners - Remove the transmission oil cooler bolt.
1 - Transmission Oil Cooler 2 - Transmission Oil Cooler Bolt 3 - Transmission Oil Cooler Retention Tabs - Release the transmission oil cooler retention tabs and remove the transmission oil cooler.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Tighten the transmission oil cooler bolt securely.
- Tighten the radiator core support brace fasteners securely.
- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to CHECK FLUID LEVEL .
