Output Shaft Seal: Notes

REMOVAL
- Remove the transfer case. Refer to MPT3015C TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or MPT3028C TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove and DISCARD
the output shaft seal with a suitable screw and slide hammer.

INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Use the (special tool #8481, Installer, Gear) to install the NEW output shaft seal.
- Check the transmission fluid level and add as necessary. Refer to CHECK TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL
