Checking Engine Oil Pressure

  1. Remove the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Refer to ENGINE OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
  2. Install the (special tool #10282, Adapter, Engine Oil Pressure) and the oil pressure gauge (special tool #C-3292A, Gauge, Pressure).

  3. Start the engine and record the reading on the oil pressure gauge.
    NOTE:

    If the oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine.

  4. After the check is complete, remove the oil pressure gauge and the adapter.
  5. Install the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Refer to ENGINE OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
