Front Exhaust Pipe: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Saturate the exhaust pipe nuts with Mopar® Rust Inhibitor. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.

   3 - Center Exhaust Pipe To Front Exhaust Pipe Bolts

3. Remove the center exhaust pipe to the front exhaust pipe bolts.
4. Remove the front exhaust pipe to catalytic converter nuts and the front exhaust pipe.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Clean the mating surfaces and replace the gasket before connecting the front exhaust pipe to the center exhaust pipe.
• Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
• Check the exhaust system for leaks. Refer to EXHAUST LEAK TESTING  .
