Center Exhaust Pipe: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Saturate the exhaust pipe nuts with Mopar® Rust Inhibitor. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
3. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Remove the exhaust muffler nuts securing the exhaust muffler to center exhaust pipe.

   3 - Front Exhaust Isolator

5. Remove the rear exhaust isolator.
6. Slide the center exhaust pipe forward remove it from the front exhaust isolator and from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Clean the mating surfaces and replace the gasket before connecting the center exhaust pipe to the front exhaust pipe.
• Lube the exhaust hanger before installing.
• Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
• Check the exhaust system for leaks. Refer to EXHAUST LEAK TESTING  .
