Left Exhaust Muffler: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

2. Cut the exhaust muffler pipe as indicated (red line).

   2 - Exhaust Isolator Bolts

3. Remove the exhaust isolator bolts and the exhaust isolator.

   1 - Ground Strap

4. Remove the ground strap.
5. Remove the exhaust isolator bolt and the right exhaust muffler from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Install and connect the muffler to the pipe using a Torca clamp and tighten the Torca clamp nuts.
• Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
• Check the exhaust system for leaks. Refer to EXHAUST LEAK TESTING  .
