Diagnostic Test

- CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
- Check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to: CHECK FLUID LEVEL, 8P75PH Transmission
.
Is the Transmission fluid at the proper level?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Correct the transmission fluid level.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to: CHECK FLUID LEVEL, 8P75PH Transmission

- CHECK IF TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) SOFTWARE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE NOTE:
Read Service Bulletins to determine if the software update is applicable to the customer complaint.
- With the scan tool, check if a TCM software update is available that may be related to the customer complaint.
Is an update available?
Yes
- Perform the TCM PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE. Refer to: MODULE PROGRAMMING, 8P75PH .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Refer to 3.
- With the scan tool, check if a TCM software update is available that may be related to the customer complaint.
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECU's) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 8P75PH Transmission .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
