The purpose of this diagnostic is to detect if the programmed Transmission Control Module (TCM) software matches the Hydraulic Identification Number stored in the Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) of the TCM which indicates the type of hydraulic hardware is in the transmission. This Hydraulic Identification Number is stored during manufacturing of the Valve Body by the transmission supplier.
This DTC may set if the TCM is replaced without performing the Transmission Adaptation procedure or the incorrect TCM assembly is installed into a vehicle.
