Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The purpose of this diagnostic is to detect failures of the Wheel Speed Sensor signal via Bus and the Output Speed Sensor signal. The DTC is set when the difference between output speed and wheel speed is greater than a calibrated threshold during shifting, which depends on the axle ratio.

Incorrect tire size or axle gear ratio may influence this DTC. If the incorrect tire size is programmed into the Body Control Module (BCM), this can contribute to this DTC.

NOTE:

A non-production size tire cannot be programmed into the BCM. The production Powertrain, with the production size tires, is the only emissions certified configuration that is available for reprogramming.
