Battery Coolant Heater: Removal

  1. Power down the high voltage system. Refer to: HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
  2. Loosen the cap on the battery cooling system pressurized coolant bottle to relieve any residual pressure.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the IDCM skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the transmission skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the left side skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Remove the transmission crossmember support. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Drain the battery cooling system. Refer to: BATTERY COOLING, DRAINING .
  9. Remove the Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM). Refer to MODULES, HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  10. Remove the Battery Coolant Heater (BCH) bolts and lift up on the BCH for access to the coolant hoses.

    1 - BCH Inlet Coolant Hose
    2 - BCH Outlet Coolant Hose
  11. Disconnect the BCH inlet coolant hose.
  12. Disconnect the BCH outlet coolant hose.
