Auxiliary Battery - ADAS: Removal

WARNING:

To protect the hands from battery acid, a suitable pair of heavy duty rubber gloves should be worn when removing or servicing a battery. Safety glasses also should be worn.

WARNING:

Remove metallic jewelry to avoid injury by accidental arcing of battery current.

  1. Disconnect and isolate both negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT ELECTRICAL/BATTERY SYSTEM/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the fasteners that secure the front passenger seat and tip it forward to gain access to the auxiliary battery.
  3. Remove the rear heat floor duct. Refer to DUCT, FLOOR DISTRIBUTION, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the auxiliary battery floor cover from below the seat.
  5. Remove IBS2. Refer to SENSOR, INTELLIGENT BATTERY (IBS) , REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    1 - Battery Hold Down Strap Nut
    2 - De-Gas Vent Tube
    1 - Auxiliary Battery Positive Cable Nut
  6. Remove the auxiliary battery positive cable nut and isolate the battery positive battery cable.
  7. Remove the auxiliary battery vent tube.
  8. Remove the auxiliary battery hold-down nut that secures the battery hold-down.

  9. Remove the auxiliary battery from the vehicle.
  10. If needed remove the double Torx studs from the battery.
