Integrated Electric Oil Pump (IEP): Removal

  1. Power down the 12-volt system. Refer to 12 VOLT BATTERY DISCONNECT - 2.0L or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - 5.7L .
  2. Power down the high voltage system. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the stiffening plate. Refer to PLATE, STIFFENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the PHEV - front skid plate brace. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    1 - Push-Pins
    2 - Crossmember Support Cap
  6. Remove push-pins holding the support caps and remove the cap.

    1 - Support to Transmission Crossmember Fasteners
    2 - Support to Body Fasteners
  7. Loosen the bolts that attach components to the transmission skid plates with slotted holes.
  8. Remove the support to body fasteners.
  9. Remove the Support to transmission crossmember fasteners remove the crossmember.

    1 - Blocker to Transmission Bolts
    2 - Blocker Screw
    3 - Blocker
  10. Remove the fasteners and remove the high voltage trough from the vehicle.

    1 - Transmission High Voltage Cable Connector Bolts
    2 - Bolt
    3 - High Voltage Connector to PIM
  11. Remove the bolts from the transmission high voltage cable connector.
  12. Cover the high voltage wiring harness connector and carefully position the transmission high voltage cable aside.
  13. Drain the transmission fluid into a clean container. Refer to FLUID/FILTER SERVICE  .

    2 - Transmission Oil Pan Assembly
  14. Remove the oil pan bolts.
  15. Remove the transmission pan assembly and gasket.

    1 - Integrated Electric Oil Pump (IEP)
    2 - IEP Bolts
    3 - IEP LIN Wire Harness Connector
  16. Disconnect the IEP LIN wire harness connector.
  17. Remove the IEP bolts and the IEP.

    1 - Transmission Oil Filter
    2 - IEP Intake Duct
  18. If necessary, remove the IEP intake duct.
