Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors throttle position through inputs from the two Throttle Position Sensors (TPS) inside the Throttle Body Assembly. If there is a discrepancy between the two sensors, then a failure is set. If the primary diagnostic feature does not capture the failure, then secondary software will determine that there is a coherency failure between the sensors.
