Diagnostic Test

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Turn the ignition off.
    5. Press the Fuel Door Switch to release the Fuel Door.
      NOTE:

      This will cause the PCM to command the Fuel Door Unlock Driver Circuit to close and allow the diagnostic to run.

    6. Turn the ignition on.
    7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the DTC present?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE FUEL DOOR FOR ANY DAMAGE OR OBSTRUCTIONS 
    1. Visually inspect the Fuel Door for any damage or obstructions that may cause the Fuel Door not to open.

      Were any issues found with the Fuel Door?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Replace the Fuel Door Unlock Solenoid in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
