Transmission Oil Cooler: Removal

  1. Remove the engine cover.
  2. Remove the electric cooling fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - 2.0L or FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .

    1 - Left Side Radiator Support Bracket Bolt
    2 - Left Side Radiator Support Bracket
    3 - Right Side Radiator Support Bracket Bolt
    4 - Right Side Radiator Support Bracket
    5 - Radiator
  3. Remove the left side radiator support bracket bolt and the left side radiator support bracket.
  4. Remove the right side radiator support bracket bolt and the right side radiator support bracket.
  5. Remove the upper radiator air shroud.

    1 - Transmission Cooler Lines
  6. Using the (special tool #9546, Disconnect Tool), disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines.

    1 - Transmission Cooler Manifold Bolt
  7. Remove the transmission oil cooler manifold bolt securing the transmission oil cooler manifold to the radiator.

    1 - Lock Tabs
    2 - Transmission Cooler
  8. Release the lock tabs and remove the transmission oil cooler.
