Enabling Conditions And Possible Causes - Motor A Resolver

Faults Monitoring Conditions Set Conditions Possible Causes
P0A3F-00 DRIVE MOTOR A POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT 
  1. With the ignition on.
  2. Battery voltage above a calibrated threshold.
  3. Diagnostic monitor enabled.
The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) does not detect Electric Motor A resolver signal.
  1. RESOLVER HARNESS CONNECTOR DAMAGED OR NOT CONNECTED COMPLETELY
  2. RESOLVER HARNESS CONNECTOR TERMINAL(S) - POOR TERMINAL CONNECTION OR TERMINAL PUSH-OUT
  3. RESOLVER A SINE HI CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
  4. RESOLVER A SINE LO CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
  5. RESOLVER A COS HI CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
  6. RESOLVER A COS LO CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
  7. RESOLVER A EXCITATION HI CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
  8. RESOLVER A EXCITATION HI CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
  9. RESOLVER A SINE HI CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND OR ANOTHER CIRCUIT
  10. RESOLVER A SINE LO CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND OR ANOTHER CIRCUIT
  11. RESOLVER A COS HI CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND OR ANOTHER CIRCUIT
  12. RESOLVER A COS LO CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND OR ANOTHER CIRCUIT
  13. RESOLVER A EXCITATION HI CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND OR ANOTHER CIRCUIT
  14. RESOLVER A EXCITATION HI CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND OR ANOTHER CIRCUIT
  15. FAULTY RESOLVER (OPEN, SHORTED OR DRIFTED OUT OF RANGE)
  16. MOTOR GENERATOR UNIT (MGU) RELATED BELT TENSIONER, BELT, OR RELATED PULLEY CONCERNS
  17. FAULTY ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)
P0A43-00 DRIVE MOTOR "A" POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT 
  1. With the ignition on.
  2. Battery voltage above a calibrated threshold.
  3. Diagnostic monitor enabled.
The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) does not detect Electric Motor A resolver signal or the signal is intermittent.
P0A44-00 DRIVE MOTOR A POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT OVERSPEED 
  1. With the ignition on.
  2. Battery voltage above a calibrated threshold.
  3. Diagnostic monitor enabled.
The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) does not detect Electric Motor A resolver signal.
P0A78-00 DRIVE MOTOR A PERFORMANCE FAULT 
  1. With the ignition on.
  2. Battery voltage above a calibrated threshold.
  3. Diagnostic monitor enabled.
The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) does not detect Electric Motor A resolver signal.
P1B03-00-RESOLVER SIGNAL / MCPA RATIONALITY 
  1. With the ignition on.
  2. Battery voltage above a calibrated threshold.
  3. Diagnostic monitor enabled.
The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) does not detect Electric Motor A resolver signal.
P1B0F-00 DRIVE MOTOR A POSITION SENSOR OFFSET INCORRECT 
  1. With the ignition on.
  2. Battery voltage above a calibrated threshold.
  3. Diagnostic monitor enabled.
The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) does not detect Electric Motor A resolver signal.
DEFAULT AND LIMP-IN ACTIONS
Sensor 1 Circuit Fault  - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on. Disable Engine Stop/Start (ESS).
Sensor Circuit Intermittent Fault  - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on. Disable Engine Stop/Start (ESS).
Sensor Circuit 1 Overspeed Fault  - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on. Service High Voltage System (SHVS) warning lamp on. De-rate Electric Motor.
Drive Motor A Performance Fault  - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on. Power Inverter Module (PIM) shutdown.
MCPA Rationality Fault  - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on. Power Inverter Module (PIM) shutdown.
Sensor Offset Incorrect  - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on. Power Inverter Module (PIM) shutdown.
