Diagnostic Test- Modes Select Switch

TECH TIP:  Diagnose a communication fault against the E-Drive mode switch before diagnosing a circuit fault for the switch.

E-DRIVE MODES SELECT SWITCH CIRCUIT FAULT DIAGNOSTICS: 

The E-Drive Mode Select Switch is a smart device that communicates with the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) through a LIN bus circuit. The switch sends a pressed/not pressed signal to the HCP through the LIN bus circuit. The switch also reports internal faults to the HCP. When an active DTC is set against the switch replace the E-Drive Mode Select Switch in accordance with the service information.

• When an active circuit fault DTC is set against the switch, replace the E-Drive Mode Select Switch in accordance with the service information.
• If there is a stored stuck switch fault, check the E-Drive Mode Select Switch for an intermittent sticking button.
