Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The A/C Pressure Sensor measures the pressure of refrigerant in the A/C system. As the Electric A/C Compressor (EAC) speed increases, the pressure should also increase. The A/C Pressure Sensor incorporates 5 Volt Supply, Signal, and Sensor Ground (or return) circuits that connect to the Power Inverter Module (PIM). The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) monitors the A/C Pressure Signal and 5 Volt Supply for faults. If a fault occurs on any of these three circuits it effects the signal voltage. If the signal voltage reads outside of a calibrated fail window, a DTC will set. The HCP is internally located in the PIM and is not serviced separately.
