Exhaust Muffler SWB: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Remove the front belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Saturate the clamp nuts with Mopar® Rust Inhibitor. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.

Remove the impact bracket inner bolts, outer bolts, and the impact bracket.

1 - Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold Bolts

2 - Catalytic Converter
Remove the right catalytic converter to exhaust manifold bolts.

Remove the left catalytic convertor to exhaust manifold bolts.

1 - Left Exhaust Muffler Clamp Nut

2 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt

3 - Right Exhaust Muffler Clamp Nut

4 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt

Loosen the left and right exhaust muffler clamp nuts.
Support the exhaust system with a suitable stand.
Remove the left and right exhaust isolator bolts.
Separate the left catalytic convertor from the resonator.
Separate the right catalytic convertor from the resonator.

NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the ground strap, unless the exhaust isolator is being replaced.
Remove the left front exhaust isolator bolts.
Remove the left rear exhaust isolator bolt.

With the help of an assistant, remove the exhaust muffler.
