Exhaust Muffler SWB: Removal

- Remove the front belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Saturate the clamp nuts with Mopar® Rust Inhibitor. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
1 - Outer Bolts 2 - Inner Bolts 3 - Impact Brace - Remove the impact bracket inner bolts, outer bolts, and the impact bracket.
1 - Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold Bolts 2 - Catalytic Converter - Remove the right catalytic converter to exhaust manifold bolts.
1 - Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold Bolts 2 - Catalytic Converter - Remove the left catalytic convertor to exhaust manifold bolts.
1 - Left Exhaust Muffler Clamp Nut 2 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt 3 - Right Exhaust Muffler Clamp Nut 4 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt - Loosen the left and right exhaust muffler clamp nuts.
- Support the exhaust system with a suitable stand.
- Remove the left and right exhaust isolator bolts.
- Separate the left catalytic convertor from the resonator.
- Separate the right catalytic convertor from the resonator.
1 - Front Exhaust Isolator Bolts 2 - Rear Exhaust Isolator Bolt NOTE:It is not necessary to remove the ground strap, unless the exhaust isolator is being replaced.
- Remove the left front exhaust isolator bolts.
- Remove the left rear exhaust isolator bolt.
1 - Front Exhaust Isolator Bolt 2 - Rear Exhaust Isolator Bolts - Remove the right front exhaust isolator bolt.
- Remove the right rear exhaust isolator bolts.
1 - Exhaust Muffler NOTE:Exhaust muffler removal is a two-person operation.
- With the help of an assistant, remove the exhaust muffler.
