Removal And Installation: Right: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATOR - 5.7L .
  2. Remove the front drive shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Temporarily install the transmission crossmember.

  4. Remove the oil dipstick tube nut and the oil dipstick tube.
  5. Remove the right catalytic convertor. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL  .

    1 - Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Nuts
  6. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.

    NOTE:

    All fasteners removed must be installed in the same location they were removed from.

  7. Remove the front exhaust manifold bolts.
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  9. Remove the rear exhaust manifold bolts.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the exhaust manifold and gasket.
  12. Inspect the exhaust manifold for any damage. Refer to INSPECTION .
  13. Clean the mating surfaces.
