Standard Procedure: Draining

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING:

Do not remove or loosen the coolant pressure cap, cylinder block drain plugs, or the draincock when the system is hot and under pressure because serious burns from the coolant can occur.

Using Radiator Drain

1 - Radiator Drain
2 - Drain Valve
NOTE:

The drain valve is located on the front of the radiator on the lower left side.

  1. Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Position a drain pan, open the drain valve and drain the cooling system.

Using Lower Radiator Hose 

  1. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Position a drain pan.
  3. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator and allow coolant to drain into the drain pan.
