Intake Manifold: Removal

- Perform the fuel system pressure release procedure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
- Remove the intake air tube. Refer to TUBE, INTAKE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .
- Remove the clean air hose. Refer to HOSE, CLEAN AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .
- Remove the engine cover.
1 - Safety Lock 2 - Fuel Supply Line Quick Connect Fitting - Remove the safety lock and disconnect the fuel supply line quick connect fitting from the fuel rail.
1 - Wire Harness Retainer 2 - Throttle Body Wire Harness Connector - Disconnect the throttle body wire harness connector and detach the wire harness retainer.
1 - Right Side Fuel Injectors Wire Harness Connectors - Disconnect the right side fuel injectors wire harness connectors.
1 - Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) Sensor Wire Harness Connector - Disconnect the MAP sensor wire harness connector located at the rear of the intake manifold.
1 - Left Side Fuel Injectors Wire Harness Connectors - Disconnect the left side fuel injectors wire harness connectors.
- Remove the purge solenoid. Refer to
SOLENOID, EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS PURGE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
1 - Make Up Air Hose - Disconnect the make up air hose.
- Disengage the wire harness from the rear of the intake manifold.
Intake Manifold Bolt Sequence - Using the sequence shown in illustration, remove the intake manifold bolts and the intake manifold.
CLEANING:
NOTE:
There is NO approved repair procedure for the intake manifold. If severe damage is found during inspection, the intake manifold must be replaced.
- Before installing the intake manifold thoroughly clean the mating surfaces. Use a suitable cleaning solvent, then air dry.
