Theory Of Operation - Amplifier With ANC

If equipped with Sales Code JLW, the Amplifier (AMP) may have an internal Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Module. The ANC module interprets cabin sound and the Amplifier produces sound through the vehicle speakers that cancel engine related frequency. The ANC module receives engine speed input via the hard-wired ANC Buffered Crank Position (+) circuit output from the PCM and sensor ground (-). The ANC system is equipped with 4 microphone inputs located within the headliner that monitor for engine related frequencies. The Amplifier monitors input voltage, the ANC circuits, and the speaker output circuits for fault criteria. Make sure replacement speakers match original equipment.
