Bottle, Pressurized Coolant: Removal

WARNING:

Do not remove cylinder block drain plugs, pressure caps, or loosen radiator draincock with system hot and under pressure. Serious burns from coolant can occur.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING - STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Remove the push pins (1) and the radiator closeout panel (2).

  4. Remove the coolant manifold hose (1).
  5. Remove the turbocharger coolant hose (3).

  6. Release the retainer and remove the lower coolant hose (2).

  7. Remove the bolts (2) and the pressurized coolant bottle (1).
