Oil Pump Drive Chain TENSIONER Shoe

  1. Remove the timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL .

  2. Push in the tensioner shoe to retract the piston (1a) and insert the (special tool #8514A, Pins, Tensioner) (1b) to hold the tensioner piston in the retracted position.
  3. Remove the bolts (2a) and remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner shoe (2b).
