Oil Pump Sprocket

  1. Remove the timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the cam chain. Refer to CHAIN AND SPROCKETS, TIMING, REMOVAL  .
  3. Remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner shoe. Refer to TENSIONER, ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the oil pump drive chain. Refer to CHAIN AND SPROCKETS, TIMING, REMOVAL  .

  5. Use the (special tool #6958, Wrench, Spanner) to hold the sprocket and remove the bolt (1a) and the oil pump sprocket (1b).

  6. Remove the oil pump sprocket friction shim (1) from the oil pump driveshaft.
