Valve, Surge: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the top engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL .

  3. Loosen the band clamp (1a) and disconnect the bypass pipe (1b) from the surge valve.

  4. Unlock and disconnect the surge valve wire harness connection (1).
  5. Remove the bolts (2a) and remove the surge valve (2b) complete with seal (2c).
