Plug, Oil: Installation

CALL OUT DESCRIPTION
1 M10 Plug
2 M18 Plug
3 M14 Plug
NOTE:

Whenever these plugs are removed they must be replaced. Service plugs have a lock patch and do not require the application of additional sealant.

  1. Install the M10 plug (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

    NOTE:

    Rear plug shown in illustration, other plugs are similar.

    NOTE:

    The M14 and M18 threaded plugs do not have a torque specification but instead are installed to a specific depth. Do not attempt to further tighten these plugs, damage to the engine block could result.

  2. Install the M14 and M18 plugs (2) flush with the block boss face (1). The plug (2) is correctly installed when it is flush or protruding + 1.5 mm to - 0.5 mm (+ 0.06 In. to - 0.02 In.) from the block boss face (1).
