Seal, Crankshaft Oil, Rear: Installation

1. Lubricate the outside of the (special tool #2044800090, Guide, Crankshaft Seal) (1) with clean engine oil and place the guide on the end of the crankshaft.

2. Install a NEW  engine crankshaft oil seal (2) over the guide (1) and onto the crankshaft. Remove the guide.

3. Using the (special tool #2024600090, Installer, Crankshaft Seal) (2) and (special tool #C-4171-3, Seal Driver Handle, Short) (1), drive the rear crankshaft oil seal into the seal retainer until the installer bottoms out against the seal retainer.

4. Verify that the seal lip (1) on the retainer is uniformly curled inward toward the engine on the crankshaft (2).
5. Install the flexplate. Refer to FLEXPLATE, INSTALLATION .
