Air Outlet Pipe From Turbocharger To Throttle Body

  1. If removed, install a new gasket (2) on the surge valve (1).

  2. If removed, install the surge valve (1) with a new gasket and securely tighten the bolts (2).

  3. If removed, install a new O-ring seal (2) on the turbo boost pressure sensor (1).

  4. If removed, install the turbo boost pressure sensor (2) with an new O-ring seal and securely tighten the bolt (1).
  5. If removed, install the air temperature sensor (3) to the turbocharger air outlet pipe (4). Refer to SENSOR, AIR TEMPERATURE, INLET, INSTALLATION .

    NOTE:

    The clamps on the throttle body and turbocharger hoses must be properly tightened to specification. Under or over tightening of the clamps may result in clamp failure and turbocharger air outlet pipe blow-off during engine operation.

  6. If removed, install the turbocharger air outlet hose (1) to the turbocharger air outlet pipe (3) while aligning the installation arrow on the hose with the rib on the pipe. Tighten the clamp (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  7. Push the throttle body air inlet hose (1) onto the throttle body while aligning the installation arrow (2) on the hose with the rib (3) on the throttle body. Tighten the lower clamp (4) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Push the turbocharger air outlet pipe (1) onto the turbocharger outlet and ensure the air outlet hose is fully seated against the machined stop on the turbocharger outlet. Do not tighten the clamp (2) at this time.

  9. Rotate the turbocharger air outlet pipe (1) into position and push the pipe into the throttle body air inlet hose until the rib on the pipe reaches the top of the throttle body air inlet hose. Position the upper clamp (3) within the alignment markings on the turbocharger air outlet pipe. Do not tighten the clamp at this time.

  10. Install the bolt (1) securing the turbocharger air outlet pipe to the cylinder head cover and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Tighten the turbocharger air outlet hose clamp and the throttle body air inlet hose clamp to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  12. Connect and lock the surge valve wire harness connection (3).
  13. Connect and lock the air temperature sensor wire harness connection (2).
  14. Connect and lock the turbo boost pressure sensor wire harness connection (1).

  15. Install the surge valve hose (5) to the surge valve and tighten the band clamp.
  16. Install the Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) hose (3) and engage the quick couplings.
  17. Engage the CCV hose (3) and the surge valve hose (5) to the retainer (4) on the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
  18. Install the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose (1) and engage the quick couplings.
  19. Engage the PCV hose (1) to the retainer (2) on the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
  20. Install the top and side engine covers. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
  21. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
