Temperature Sensor Housing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL .

  5. Disconnect the charge air coolant temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).

  6. Loosen the band clamp (2) and remove the coolant hose from the coolant temperature sensor housing (3).
  7. Disengage the quick-connect fitting (1) and remove coolant outlet hose from the coolant temperature sensor housing (3).

  8. Remove the bolt (1) securing coolant temperature sensor housing (2) to the charge air cooler.

  9. Disengage the quick-connect fitting and remove the temperature sensor housing (1) from the charge air cooler.

  10. If required, lift the locking clip (1) and remove the charge air water coolant temperature sensor (2).

  11. The charge air water coolant temperature sensor O-ring (1) can be reused if not damaged.
