Water Pump Inlet Tube

- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
- Using a NEW gasket, install the water pump inlet tube (3) and tighten the two screws (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the oil cooler hose (4) to the water pump inlet tube (3).
- Install the EGR cooler hose (2) to the water pump inlet tube (3).
- Install the two wire harness retainers (1) to the water pump inlet tube (2).
- Install the lower radiator hose (1) to the water pump inlet tube.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Evacuate air and fill cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Start the engine and check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS .
