Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
3. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

   NOTE:

   The exhaust manifold heat shield can not be reused and must be replaced.

4. Remove and discard the exhaust manifold heat shield (1).

INSTALLATION 

1. Install a NEW  exhaust manifold heat shield.
2. Install the turbocharger. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
3. If removed, install the oil filter and fill the engine crankcase with the proper oil to the correct level. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
