Checking Engine Oil Pressure

Remove the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (2). Refer to SENSOR, OIL PRESSURE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Install the (special tool #10282, Adapter, Engine Oil Pressure) (1) and the oil pressure gauge (special tool #C-3292A, Gauge, Pressure) (2).

Start the engine and record the reading on the oil pressure gauge (2).

NOTE:

If the oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine.

2000	3.2 ± 0.3 bar
3000	3.5 ± 0.3 bar
6000	3.5 ± 0.3 bar
Minimum oil pressure over engine speed range @ 100 °C of oil temperature in full load operation. At part load (speed ≤ 3000 rpm and BPEM ≤ 8 bar) the oil pressure is set at 1.5 ± 0.3 bar.

After the check is complete, remove the oil pressure gauge and the adapter.
Install the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OIL PRESSURE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
