Clutch Pedal Position Sensor
NOTE:
If the clutch pedal position sensor is being replaced, use the diagnostic scan tool to perform the "Clutch pedal position sensor" learn procedure in the Powertrain Control Modules (PCM) "Misc functions" menu. This must be performed when the PCM, clutch pedal sensor, or related components are replaced.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to 3.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT & CONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM or 3.6L, BATTERY DISCONNECT & CONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM .
- Remove the clutch pedal. Refer to PEDAL AND PAD, CLUTCH, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
1 - Wire Harness Connector - Working from the outboard side of the clutch pedal, disconnect the wire harness connector from the clutch pedal position sensor.
1 - Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Fasteners 2 - Wire Harness Connector - Remove the fastener and remove the clutch pedal position sensor from the clutch pedal bracket.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Tighten the clutch pedal position sensor fastener(s) securely.
- When the clutch pedal position sensor is being replaced, use the diagnostic scan tool to perform the Clutch Pedal Position Sensor learn procedure in the Powertrain Control Modules (PCM) "Misc. functions" menu. This must be performed when the PCM, clutch pedal sensor, or related components are replaced.
