Clutch Slave Cylinder: Notes
Bore scope inspection required to ensure clutch fork to slave cylinder alignment. Failure to inspect and verify proper seating of the slave may result in transmission damage or loss of clutch function.
REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE

1 - Slave Cylinder Nuts 2 - Hydraulic Line Clip 3 - Slave Cylinder - Remove the clutch slave cylinder hydraulic line clip and remove the hydraulic line from the clutch slave cylinder.
- Remove the clutch slave cylinder nuts from the clutch slave cylinder.NOTE:
Do not allow release lever plunger to pivot more than 2° in either direction in the slave cylinder bore. Allowing the plunger to pivot more than 2° in the bore will cause fluid to bypass the seal and result in fluid leakage.
- Remove the clutch slave cylinder by pulling it straight back.
INSTALLATION
Bore scope inspection required to ensure clutch fork to slave cylinder alignment. Failure to inspect and verify proper seating of the slave may result in transmission damage or loss of clutch function.
During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Do not allow release lever plunger to pivot more than 2° in either direction in the slave cylinder bore. Allowing the plunger to pivot more than 2° in the bore will cause fluid to bypass the seal and result in fluid leakage.
- Pull the clutch release lever toward the clutch slave cylinder opening to insure proper seating of the clutch slave cylinder plunger in the release lever pocket.
- Verify the O-ring is on the clutch slave cylinder hydraulic line before installing.
- Push the grommet from the clutch line back into the bracket.
- Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to CLUTCH HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT BLEEDING .
