Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTCS BEFORE AND AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE.
- Check for and remove any non-FCC compliant components.
- Verify that all tire pressures are to the recommended cold inflation tire pressure specifications.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Test drive the vehicle at a speed greater than 24 km/r (15 mph) for 20 minutes in order to receive TPM data and allow for the system to update.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TPM Module.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the Intermittent DTC Procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC PROCEDURE .
- CHECK IF TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) IS IN WINTER MODE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Cycle the ignition from off to on.
- Check for the following conditions:
- The telltale lamp is off.
- The tire pressure values in the Instrument Cluster are displayed as dashes.
- The message center is not displaying "SERVICE TPM SYSTEM".
Is Winter Mode activated based on the above conditions?
Yes
- The Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Module is now in deactivation mode (Winter Mode). This DTC will remain active until the correct tire and wheel assemblies are installed back on the vehicle. Once one of the correct tire and wheel assemblies are reinstalled, the other three must also be reinstalled prior to turning the ignition on.
No
- Go To 3
- VERIFY CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) SENSORS ARE INSTALLED
- Turn the ignition off.
- Verify the correct TPM Sensors are installed in all of the tire and wheel assemblies.
Are the correct TPM Sensors installed?
Yes
- Install a new Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TPM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Install the correct Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TPM VERIFICATION TEST .
