Pressurized Coolant Bottle

• The pressurized coolant bottle is mounted on top of the radiator. The coolant recovery/overflow bottle is made of high temperature plastic. The radiator overflow hose and the bypass hose connects to the top of bottle in order to help get trapped air out of the coolant system. Coolant is drawn back into the engine through the lower hose.

OPERATION 

• The pressure bottle works in conjunction with the cooling system pressure cap to keep the coolant free of trapped air. It provides a volume for expansion and contraction, a convenient and safe method for checking coolant level, and adjusting coolant level at atmospheric pressure. It also provides some reserve coolant to cover minor leaks and evaporation or boiling losses.
