Diagnosis And Testing - Vacuum Pump

  1. Connect a vacuum gauge to the booster check valve with a short length of hose and T-fitting.
  2. Start the engine allowing the engine to run for 30 seconds. Vacuum should be 18 inches HG (609 millibars). Verify the vacuum line is not leaking. If no leak is present replace vacuum pump. Refer to PUMP, VACUUM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
