Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) BUS DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
  Are any BCM CAN bus DTCs set?
  
  Yes
  - Repair BCM CAN Bus DTCs in accordance with the Service Information. If DTC U0002-00 is set, perform that diagnostic first. Refer to DTC INDEX (1 OF 2) and/or DTC INDEX (2 OF 2) .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 8HP50/850RE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
  Are any PCM DTCs set?
  
  Yes
  - Repair PCM DTCs. Refer to DTC INDEX (1 OF 2) and/or DTC INDEX (2 OF 2) .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 8HP50/850RE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK FOR OTHER TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs and record on the repair order.
  Are any other TCM DTCs set?
  
  Yes
  - Repair other TCM DTC(s). Refer to DTC INDEX (1 OF 2) and/or DTC INDEX (2 OF 2) .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 8HP50/850RE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Using the schematics as a guide, check the TCM connector and all related in-line connector terminals for corrosion, damage, or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCM in accordance with the Service Information.. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 8HP50/850RE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
