Diagnostic Test

READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
2. With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
3. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?

Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK FOR DTC P1D8C-00
1. Using the scan tool, check if DTC P1D8C-00 is set in conjunction with P093A-00.
  Is the DTC P1D8C-00 set in the TCM also?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the TCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK THE HYDRAULIC IMPULSE SOLENOID (HIS) HARNESS CONNECTOR
1. Remove the transmission oil pan.
2. Inspect the HIS connector is properly connected at the solenoid.
  Is the HIS harness connector properly connected to the solenoid?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Properly connect the harness to the HIS.
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) WIRING HARNESS LEADFRAME
1. Using the schematics as a guide, check the TCM terminals for corrosion, damage or pushed out terminals.
2. Check Service Information Tune-ups or Service Bulletins for possible causes that may apply.
3. Remove the transmission oil pan and the TCM. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Inspect and clean the solenoid terminals at the wiring harness leadframe for metallic contamination.
5. Reinstall the TCM. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6. With the scan tool, erase TCM DTCs.
7. Road test the vehicle and check for DTCs.
  Did the DTC return?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the TCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  - Cleaning the leadframe corrected the condition.
