Set Condition

The Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor reports to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that the difference between the sensor temperature and the modeled exhaust gas temperature is greater than a calibrated threshold or less than a calibrated threshold. If the PCM detects that the failure is present for 5.0 seconds, it will illuminate the Malfunction Illumination Lamp (MIL) and set the DTC. This is a two Trip Fault.
