This diagnostic runs continuously when the following conditions are met:

The diagnostic runs during a certain cold start time period with the Engine running and the Transmission in gear. The diagnostic stops running when the Transmission is shifted into Neutral or Park. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) determines time duration of the cold start monitor based on calibrated thresholds of temperature sensor inputs. The temp sensor inputs are Engine Coolant (ECT) and Ambient Air (AAT).
