Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
Diagnose all CAN B and C communication DTCs before continuing.
- Test drive the vehicle
- With a scan tool, view DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
- ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE DTCS PRESENT
- With the scan tool, select view DTCs in the Anti-Lock Brake Module.
Are there any DTCs present in the Anti-lock Brake Module?
Yes
- Refer to DTC INDEX (1 OF 2) and/or DTC INDEX (2 OF 2) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, select view DTCs in the Anti-Lock Brake Module.
- INTERMITTENT VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL
- At this time, no DTCs are present.
- Inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Inspect the related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
- Using the schematics as a guide, wiggle test the related circuit(s) while monitoring the scan tool data relative to the vehicle speed sensor circuit(s). Look for the data to change or for a DTC to set.
- Perform any technical service bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test Complete.
