Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR FUEL SYSTEM OR IGNITION SYSTEM DTCS PRESENT
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Are there any fuel or ignition system DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the diagnostics for the fuel or ignition system related DTC(s) before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK FOR THE ABILITY OF THE ENGINE TO CRANK
1. Attempt to crank or start the engine.
  Does the engine crank?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the ENGINE CRANKS BUT DOES NOT START diagnostic procedure. Refer to ENGINE CRANKS BUT DOES NOT START .
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Perform the ENGINE WILL NOT CRANK diagnostic procedure. Refer to NO CRANK (BCM EQUIPPED) .
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
